Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb lobster meat, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
Optional Ingredients
  • splash sherry for an extra layer of flavor
  • Red pepper flakes for a little kick

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Toss in the diced onions and garlic, cooking until they’re soft and fragrant.
  2. Add your diced tomatoes, shrimp, and lobster meat. Stir gently to combine and let it all simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add the heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
  4. Taste your bisque and season with salt and pepper. If desired, add red pepper flakes.
  5. Ladle your bisque into bowls and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve with crusty bread or over a bed of rice.

Notes

Don’t rush the sautéing of the onions and garlic for better flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for about 3 days, and flavors will deepen over time.
