Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Soak the chicken wings in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- While wings soak, heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to around 375°F (190°C). Mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- After soaking, dredge wings in the seasoned flour mixture.
Frying the Wings
- Fry the wings in batches for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
Cooking the Lasagna
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Optionally, spread olive oil over them after draining.
- Mix ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl for the filling.
Assembling and Baking
- In a 9x13 baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce. Add three lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta filling, a third of the mozzarella, and another layer of sauce. Repeat until final layer with noodles, remaining sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake lasagna for 30-35 minutes until cheese is melty and bubbly.
Serving
- Serve crispy fried chicken wings alongside the cheesy lasagna.
Notes
For extra crispy wings, double-dredge by dipping them back in buttermilk and flour before frying. You can assemble the lasagna a day ahead and store it in the fridge. Reheat leftovers in the microwave or oven.
