  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For a hint of heat

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper to fully coat.
  3. Spread the sprouts out in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. Roast the Brussels sprouts in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Meanwhile, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  3. After 20 minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven and drizzle the balsamic-honey mixture over the sprouts. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Return the sprouts to the oven and roast for an additional 10 minutes until caramelized.
  5. Remove from the oven and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use fresh Brussels sprouts. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven. Feel free to add grated Parmesan or nuts for added flavor!
