- In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss the shrimp in this dry mixture until evenly coated.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Cooking
- Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer the shrimp to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey and soy sauce. Pour this mix into the skillet and heat until it begins to bubble.
- Add the crispy shrimp back to the skillet and toss them gently in the glaze until fully coated.
Serving
- Serve warm, garnished with freshly chopped green onions.
Notes
For an extra level of crunch, double-dip the shrimp by first coating them in beaten egg before the flour mixture. If the glaze feels a bit lumpy, just stir a little longer. Serve the glaze on the side for picky eaters.
