Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey if you’re feeling a little lighter)
  • 4 pieces potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 3 pieces carrots, sliced
  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (with juice) for some saucy goodness
  • 1 can corn, drained you can swap for frozen
  • 4 cups beef broth the heart of the stew
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce for that umami kick
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: herbs like thyme or bay leaves for those 'fancy chef' vibes

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by browning the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Don't worry if you don’t get it all cooked through; it will finish in the slow cooker.
  2. While the meat is sizzling, chop those potatoes, carrots, and onions. Toss them straight into the slow cooker.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for a minute before adding it to the pot.
  4. Mix in the diced tomatoes, corn, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Stir well.
Cooking
  1. Set the crock pot on low for about 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Finishing Touches
  1. Once it’s done, taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. You can add herbs for extra flavor.

Notes

Feel free to swap out veggies! Leftovers reheat well and can be frozen for later.
