Ingredients
  

Meatloaf Ingredients
  • 2 pounds ground beef Lean ground beef works best.
  • 1 cup onions, finely chopped About 1 medium onion.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk Can be substituted with plant-based milk.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix Adds flavor to the meatloaf.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese Add 30 minutes before the meatloaf is done cooking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onions, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, French onion soup mix, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it into the slow cooker.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  2. About 30 minutes before it's done, lay the Swiss cheese slices on top and cover to let the cheese melt.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, carefully transfer the meatloaf to a platter, slice, and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

For a flavor boost, consider adding garlic or herbs to the mixture. Leftover meatloaf makes excellent sandwiches.
