  • 1 ½ cups 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour Base for the bars.
  • 1 cup 1 cup chocolate chips Use dark, milk, or your choice.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter, then add the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla, combining until well-blended.
  4. Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, then gently fold in the flour.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper, then pour the batter in and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ripe bananas make these bars sweeter. You can substitute butter with coconut oil or applesauce for a healthier option. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-5 days.
