Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Combine the sugars and oil in a large mixing bowl. Mix well until smooth.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gently fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Add the chopped apples and nuts (if using) into the batter and fold until mixed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth it out.
Baking
- Bake for about 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for added delight.
Notes
