Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
- Pour in warm water and mix until no dry bits remain.
- Cover the bowl with a damp kitchen towel and let it sit at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
- Flour a work surface and turn out the dough. Fold to shape into a ball.
- Line a mixing bowl with parchment paper, place the dough seam-side down, and let it rest for another hour.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside.
- Transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Once baked, let it cool on a wire rack.
Notes
Store leftovers wrapped in plastic wrap or a bread bag. Freezes well when sliced.
