Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the loaf of French bread in half lengthwise to create two long 'boats.'
  3. Spread about a quarter cup of pizza sauce on each side of the bread.
  4. Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  5. Layer your pepperoni slices or any other desired toppings.
  6. Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the toppings.
  7. Place the prepared boats on a baking sheet and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  8. Once baked, garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot.
