A quick and easy dish perfect for busy nights, combining the flavors of garlic and olive oil with pasta for a delicious meal.

Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced or more if you’re feeling adventurous!
  • a pinch red pepper flakes if you like a little kick
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional Fresh parsley, chopped to keep it fancy!
  • to taste Cooked pasta of your choice spaghetti is always a classic!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Boil a pot of water for the pasta and chop the fresh parsley while waiting.
Cooking Pasta
  1. Once the water is boiling, add the pasta and cook according to package instructions (usually 8-10 minutes for al dente).
Prepare Garlic and Oil
  1. In a large skillet, pour in the olive oil and add the minced garlic. Sizzle over medium heat until fragrant and slightly golden.
Add Spice
  1. If desired, add the red pepper flakes for some heat.
Combine
  1. Reserve a cup of pasta water, drain the rest, and add the pasta directly to the skillet with garlic and oil. Toss together and add some reserved pasta water to create a silky sauce.
Season to Taste
  1. Add salt and pepper to taste, and mix in the freshly chopped parsley if using.
Serve
  1. Serve the Garlic and Oil pasta and enjoy!

Notes

The key to great garlic flavor is to prevent burning. Optionally, add a splash of cream or ricotta cheese for a creamy texture. You can use pre-minced garlic for convenience.
