Ingredients

Pasta
  • 8 ounces pasta (your choice: spaghetti, fettuccine, or even whole wheat)
Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound chicken breast, diced
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes for a bit of kick
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Grated parmesan cheese for serving

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Begin by cooking your pasta according to the package instructions until al dente.
Sautéing the Chicken
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt half of the butter.
  2. Add the diced chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown, seasoning with salt and pepper.
Adding Shrimp and Garlic
  1. Once the chicken is almost done, add the shrimp and minced garlic, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the shrimp is pink.
Making the Sauce
  1. Add the remaining butter and red pepper flakes to the skillet, stirring everything together.
  2. If the mixture is dry, splash in a little pasta water.
Combining Everything
  1. Drain the pasta (reserving some pasta water) and add it to the skillet.
  2. Toss until the pasta is well coated in the sauce, using reserved pasta water if necessary.
Serving
  1. Divide the pasta into bowls and garnish with fresh parsley and grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

You can substitute shrimp with vegetables or double the chicken. Keep an eye on cooking times to avoid overcooking shrimp.
