Ingredients
  

Mushroom Mixture
  • 8 oz mushrooms (any variety) Button, cremini, or shiitake
  • 4 cloves minced garlic More garlic equals more love!
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Or butter for richer flavor
  • Salt and pepper To taste
Toasting Components
  • 4 slices crusty bread Sourdough or whole grain recommended
  • Fresh parsley For garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the olive oil (or butter) in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and tender.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the pan and continue to sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Toasting
  1. Toast the slices of bread until beautifully crisp.
Assembly
  1. Top each slice of toasted bread with the garlic mushrooms. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top if desired.
