- In a large pot, combine the chicken (or vegetable) broth, minced ginger, shiitake mushrooms, and garlic. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil, allowing flavors to mingle for about 5 minutes.
- Fill wonton wrappers with your choice of filling and fold them into triangles.
- Gently drop the wontons into the simmering broth and let them cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the top.
- Toss in the chopped bok choy and let it cook for another minute.
- Drizzle in the lemon juice right before serving.
- Ladle soup into bowls, sprinkle with green onions, and serve.
Notes
You can prepare the broth and wontons ahead of time and store separately. Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days, but add fresh wontons when reheating.
