Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until blended.
- Gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Mix until just combined.
- Stir in nuts or chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into a greased or lined baking pan and smooth it out.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let them cool slightly before cutting into squares.
Notes
For fudgier brownies, err on the side of under-baking. For cake-like brownies, bake a few extra minutes. If using nuts, chop them smaller for even distribution.
