Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender and golden.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute. Then, sprinkle with salt and pepper and stir before removing from heat.
- Slice the French bread into 1-inch thick pieces if not done already.
Assembly and Baking
- Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet and spoon the cheesy mushroom mixture generously onto each slice.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the bread is slightly crisp.
- Once out of the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, mix different types of mushrooms. Substitute with vegan cheese for a dairy-free option. These toasts can be made ahead by preparing the mushroom mixture in advance.
