Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the store-bought pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Whisk until mixed thoroughly.
- Gradually stir in the milk and beaten egg yolks.
Cooking
- Pour the mixture into a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently until thickened (about 10-15 minutes).
- Once thick, remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, until there is a slight jiggle in the center.
Finishing Touches
- Allow the pie to cool at room temperature for about an hour, then refrigerate.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
For a double chocolate delight, add chocolate shavings or whipped cream on top. Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
