Ingredients
  

For the Grilled Squid
  • 1 pound fresh squid, cleaned and cut into rings and tentacles Ensure squid is cleaned properly.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Freshly squeezed preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to spice preference.
For Serving
  • fresh lemon wedges
  • chopped parsley For garnish.
  • sea salt and black pepper To taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse the squid under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
Mixing the Marinade
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Marinate Your Squid
  1. Toss the cleaned squid into the bowl and coat well with the marinade. Let sit for about 15-30 minutes.
Grilling
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Place the squid on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn opaque and curl up.
Serve
  1. Transfer the squid to a serving platter, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Don't overcook the squid to prevent a rubbery texture. You can substitute squid with shrimp or scallops. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
