Ingredients
  

Squid Preparation
  • 1 pound squid, cleaned and sliced into rings
Marinade Ingredients
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes adjust according to your spice tolerance
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 quarter cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 medium lemon, juiced
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Clean the squid thoroughly if it’s not pre-cleaned. Rinse under cold water and slice into rings. Set it aside.
Marinade
  1. In a bowl, mix together the garlic, red chili flakes, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Add in the squid rings and toss them gently to coat. Let sit for at least 15 minutes.
Grilling
  1. Preheat your grill (or grill pan) to medium-high.
  2. Place the squid on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until it turns opaque and has grill marks. Avoid overcooking.
Finishing Touches
  1. Remove the squid from the grill and toss it with the fresh parsley. Squeeze additional lemon juice before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, optionally alongside a fresh salad or crusty bread.

Notes

If fresh squid isn't available, frozen can be used. Adjust spice levels according to preference. A splash of white wine can enhance the marinade.
