Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7UP), chilled Chilled for best fizz.
  • 2 cups pineapple juice, chilled Chilled for best fizz.
  • 16 oz lime sherbet, slightly softened About 1 pint.
  • 1-2 tablespoons limeade concentrate or simple lime syrup (optional) For extra tang.
  • a few drops green food coloring (optional) For extra brightness.
  • Maraschino cherries and lime slices, for garnish For decoration.
  • Fresh mint sprigs (optional, for aroma)
  • Ice (if serving in individual glasses) Optional, for serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Chill everything first. Keep your lemon-lime soda and pineapple juice in the fridge and pull the sherbet out 10–15 minutes before mixing so it’s soft enough to scoop easily.
  2. In a large pitcher, stir together the pineapple juice and limeade concentrate (if using).
  3. Spoon half the lime sherbet into the bottom of the pitcher or divide it among individual glasses.
  4. Gently pour the lemon-lime soda over the sherbet and pineapple juice.
  5. Add a drop or two of green food coloring if you want the cartoon-green look.
  6. Drop the remaining scoops of sherbet on top so each serving has that dreamy float.
  7. Add maraschino cherries and lime slices. Finish with a sprig of mint if you’re feeling fancy.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

Great for holiday gatherings! For a slightly healthier version, swap half the soda for sparkling water. Can be spiked with rum or vodka for adults.
