Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut the pastry into rectangles, about 4 inches by 6 inches.
- Layer the ham and cheese onto one half of each rectangle.
- Season with salt and pepper, and optional herbs.
- Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and press down the edges to seal.
- Transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Baking
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffed up and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Feel free to swap out ham for turkey or roast beef, and experiment with different cheeses.
