Main Ingredients
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed Store-bought is totally fine.
  • 4 ounces deli ham Use more if you’re feeling adventurous.
  • 4 ounces cheese Swiss, cheddar, or any of your choice.
  • 1 large egg, beaten For brushing the rolls.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Optional Seasonings
  • to taste Herbs or spices Such as oregano or garlic powder.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into rectangles, about 4 inches by 6 inches.
  4. Layer the ham and cheese onto one half of each rectangle.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, and optional herbs.
  6. Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and press down the edges to seal.
  7. Transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffed up and golden brown.
  2. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to swap out ham for turkey or roast beef, and experiment with different cheeses.
