Ham and Cranberry Sliders

Ingredients
  

For the Sliders
  • 12 pieces slider buns
  • 1 pound deli ham, sliced
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
For the Topping
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and lay the bottom halves in a greased baking dish.
Layering
  1. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each bun.
  2. Add a layer of deli ham followed by a dollop of cranberry sauce on top.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese on top of the cranberry sauce.
  4. Cap it off with the top halves of the slider buns.
Baking
  1. Mix the melted butter and poppy seeds in a small bowl and brush it over the tops of the buns.
  2. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until the tops are browned and toasted.
Serving
  1. Let them cool for a couple of minutes, then slice them into individual sliders and serve.

Notes

These sliders can be made in advance and stored in the fridge before baking. Experiment with different cheeses like Gouda or cheddar!
