  • 1.5 pounds ground beef or ground turkey for a lighter option
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Italian seasoned or plain
  • 1 cup milk or any non-dairy substitute
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup ketchup plus more for topping
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce for enhanced flavor
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, chopped onion, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish, shaping it into a loaf.
  4. Spread a generous layer of ketchup on top of the loaf.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature hits 160°F.
  2. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

You can add finely chopped bell peppers or zucchini for extra nutrients. Leftovers can be used for sandwiches the next day.
