- Sprinkle salt and pepper all over the round steak.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Cooking
- Add the round steak to the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same pan, add sliced onions and sauté until soft and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping the bottom of the pan to release flavors.
- Return the round steak to the pan, cover, and let simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch with water, pour into the gravy while stirring, and let simmer for an additional 5 minutes until thickened.
Serving
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or salad.
