Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Wash and hull the strawberries. Slice them to your desired thickness.
Making the Syrup
- Combine sugar and water in a medium pot and bring to a gentle boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice.
Packing the Jars
- Pack sliced strawberries into sterilized jars, leaving space at the top. Pour hot syrup over the berries until fully submerged.
Sealing and Processing
- Wipe the jar rims, cap tightly, and process in a boiling water bath for 15-20 minutes.
Cooling
- Let jars cool on a kitchen towel for 24 hours. Check for the 'pop' sound as they seal.
Notes
Tip: Add a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract to the syrup for an extra flavor boost. After 24 hours, ensure seals are tight—if not, refrigerate and consume immediately.
