Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips or your preferred add-ins.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for thicker cookies. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
