Ingredients
  

Cookie Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed firmly.
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature is best.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Add-ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Or your favorite add-ins.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips or your preferred add-ins.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  3. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for thicker cookies. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
