Ingredients
  

For the Cheese Sticks
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese sticks Can use string cheese or a block cut into sticks.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs Beaten.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Panko is recommended for extra crunch.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Adds flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed oil for frying Olive or vegetable oil works well.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks into halves or quarters based on your preference.
Breading Station
  1. Set up three shallow bowls filled with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Bread the Cheese
  1. Dunk each mozzarella piece in flour, then dip in the egg, and roll in the breadcrumb mixture until fully covered.
Frying
  1. Heat about an inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once shimmering, add cheese sticks in batches. Fry for about 30 seconds on each side or until golden brown.
Serve
  1. Transfer cheese sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil and serve.

Notes

For best results, use panko breadcrumbs for a restaurant-quality crunch. You can also freeze cheese sticks before frying for future snacks. Pair with marinara, ranch dressing, or spicy sriracha for dipping.
