Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 2 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk
For the Coating
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate (or semi-sweet) Use semi-sweet chocolate for a sweeter option.
  • A sprinkle of sea salt Optional but recommended!

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, softened butter, peppermint extract, and milk. Mix until you have a thick, smooth paste.
  2. Dust your countertop with powdered sugar, roll the filling into small balls, and flatten them into patties about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Coating
  1. While the patties chill, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or using the double boiler method in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  2. Dip each patty into the melted chocolate, covering completely, then place back on parchment paper.
  3. Return the chocolate-covered patties to the fridge for another 30 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
Serving
  1. Once set, serve the patties to family and friends, or keep them for yourself!

Notes

If you're in a hurry, drizzle melted chocolate on top instead of fully coating. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
