For the shrimp
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined or whichever seafood you fancy
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated optional, but highly recommended
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium is preferable)
For garnish
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Preparation
  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
Make the sauce
  1. Whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a bowl until combined.
Cook the shrimp
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
Combine and serve
  1. Pour the honey garlic mixture over the cooked shrimp and stir well to coat.
  2. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes.
  3. Serve the Honey Garlic Shrimp over rice or quinoa, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

You can swap shrimp for chicken or tofu. For extra sauce, double the sauce ingredients.
