Honey Mustard Surf and Turf Skewers

Ingredients
  

For the Skewers
  • 1 pound steak (your choice! recommended: sirloin or ribeye)
  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined) Frozen shrimp can also be used
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes
For the Honey Mustard Sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting your steak into bite-sized pieces. If desired, marinate in salt, pepper, and olive oil.
Assembling the Skewers
  1. Alternate skewering the steak and shrimp onto your skewer sticks, leaving space in between each piece for even cooking.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Adjust flavors to taste.
Grilling
  1. Heat the grill to medium-high and brush with olive oil. Grill skewers for 4-5 minutes on each side, brushing with the honey mustard glaze in the last minute.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, remove from the grill and drizzle with extra honey mustard sauce. Serve with a salad or grilled veggies.

Notes

Feel free to substitute shrimp with chicken or veggies. A chilled glass of white wine or iced tea pairs well with this meal.
