For the Cake
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Plus ingredients called for on the box
  • 1 cup hot chocolate mix Include mini marshmallows
For the Topping
  • 1 can whipped topping Or make your own
  • to drizzle chocolate syrup For topping
  • to taste mini marshmallows For decoration

Method

Bake the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on your cake mix box. Prepare your cake batter as directed and stir in the hot chocolate mix. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan and bake until a toothpick comes out clean, about 30-35 minutes.
Poke the Holes
  1. Once your cake is out of the oven and has cooled for about 15 minutes, take a wooden spoon handle or a fork and poke holes all over the cake.
Soak the Cake
  1. Prepare some hot chocolate according to the package instructions and pour it evenly over the poked cake. Let the cake absorb all that chocolaty goodness for about 30 minutes.
Frost and Top
  1. After your cake has cooled completely, spread the whipped topping over the surface, drizzle chocolate syrup on top, and sprinkle additional mini marshmallows.
Chill and Serve
  1. Allow your cake to set in the fridge for at least one hour before serving.

Notes
