  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups warm water (about 100°F) Keep the water at a sweet spot of about 100°F for yeast activation.
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast One packet.
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it’s foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center, and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Once your dough has risen, punch it down gently and divide it into 2 or 3 equal parts, depending on desired pizza size.
Baking
  1. Roll out each piece of dough into your desired thickness.
  2. Pre-bake your crust for about 5-7 minutes at 475°F for extra crunch, if desired.
  3. Top your pizza dough with your favorite sauces, cheeses, and toppings.
  4. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden and delicious.

Notes

For a more flavorful crust, let your dough rise slowly in the fridge overnight. Got leftover dough? It freezes beautifully!
