Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened Use softened cream cheese for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed Ensure it's fully thawed for best texture.
  • 2 boxes (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (14.4 oz) graham crackers Regular or crushed for a different texture.
  • to taste chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips for garnish Optional, for decoration.

Method

In a Bowl of Creamy Goodness
  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and mix until nicely blended.
Whip It Real Good
  1. Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Chocolate Layer Central
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens up, usually about 2 minutes.
Layer It Like a Pro
  1. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of graham crackers at the bottom. Spoon half of the cream cheese mixture over the crackers, followed by half of the chocolate pudding. Repeat the layers and finish with a layer of graham crackers on top.
Chill Out
  1. Cover the dessert with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or overnight if you can wait.
Add the Finishing Touches
  1. Just before serving, sprinkle chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips on top.

Notes

For a playful twist, substitute crushed Oreos for graham crackers. For a dairy-free option, use dairy-free cream cheese and non-dairy whipped topping. This dessert keeps well in the fridge for 3-5 days.
