Preparation
- If your salmon isn’t prepped yet, slice it into thin strips.
- Cut the avocados in half, scoop out the flesh, and mash it in a bowl with lemon juice and a pinch of salt; add olive oil to keep it creamy.
Assembly
- Place a lettuce leaf flat on your workspace. Spread a generous spoonful of avocado mash onto the leaf.
- Layer a few basil leaves and a strip of salmon on top.
- Roll from one end of the lettuce leaf, tucking in the filling as you go, to make sure nothing escapes.
Serving
- Once rolled, slice them in half or leave them whole, then serve on a platter with soy sauce for dipping.
Notes
Fresh is Best: Always opt for the freshest ingredients when using fish. Experiment with filling variations like cucumbers, carrots, or cream cheese. Save leftover avocado mash for toast or as a side.
