Method
Preheating and Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mixing Dry Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Mixing Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, mix your egg, milk, and melted butter until well blended.
Combining Mixtures
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
Adding Filling
- Fold in the chopped apples and half of the caramel sauce.
Filling Muffin Tins
- Grease or line a muffin tin and spoon the batter into each cup, filling them about 2/3 full.
Baking
- Top each filled muffin cup with a drizzle of the remaining caramel sauce and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling
- Let the muffins cool in the tin for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
Notes
Store leftover muffins in an airtight container for up to three days. You can freeze them for longer storage. Feel free to drizzle more caramel on top before serving for added sweetness.
