Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh carrots (cut into sticks) Aim for sticks that are easy to wrap.
  • 8 slices bacon (the thicker, the better!) Consider using flavored bacon for added taste.
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup This will give the carrots a sweet glaze.
  • to taste salt and pepper Essential for seasoning the dish.
  • as needed toothpicks For securing the bacon around the carrots.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and cut the carrots into sticks.
  3. Wrap a strip of bacon around each carrot stick and secure it with a toothpick.
  4. Arrange the wrapped carrots on a lined baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced out.
  5. Drizzle maple syrup over the bacon-wrapped carrots and season with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Roast in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning.
  2. Once the bacon is crispy and the carrots are tender, remove from the oven and let cool briefly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding chopped pecans or walnuts on top before serving. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days and reheated in the oven to regain crispiness. You can prepare the carrot bundles in advance and store them in the fridge until ready to bake.
