Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries (drain and pat dry) Don't skip on the cherries!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until it's light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time while mixing, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and maraschino cherries.
  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space in between.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  3. Enjoy with a glass of milk!

Notes

Don’t skip on the cherries: they’re the star of the show! Freeze leftover dough for future cravings.
