Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons butter For melting
  • 10 oz marshmallows Or 4 cups of mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Decorating Ingredients
  • 1 package pink candy melts or white chocolate For coating
  • as needed red food coloring If using white chocolate
  • 1 black edible marker Optional, for details

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add in the marshmallows, stirring constantly until completely melted and gooey.
  2. Remove the pot from heat, and stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until everything is well-coated.
  3. Using a buttered spatula, take portions of the mixture and shape them into brain halves.
Decoration
  1. Melt the pink candy melts (or white chocolate with red food coloring) in the microwave in short bursts of 30 seconds.
  2. Dip the brain halves into the pink coating, ensuring they are well-covered. Use a toothpick to create brain details while the coating is still wet.
  3. Place the decorated brains on a parchment-lined baking tray and allow them to set until the coating hardens.
  4. Optionally, use a black edible marker to add details to your brains.

Notes

Get creative with the colors and shapes! Use green candy melts for Zombie Brains, or cookie cutters to create ghosts or tombstones instead. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
