Preparation
- Chill your coffee by letting it cool to room temperature or refrigerating for 10-15 minutes.
- Pour the chilled coffee, vanilla ice cream, milk, caramel sauce, and sugar (if using) into a blender.
- Add the ice cubes on top and secure the lid.
- Blend on low speed, then increase to high for about 30-45 seconds until smooth and frothy.
- Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more caramel or sugar if desired, or thicken by adding more ice or ice cream.
- Drizzle caramel sauce inside two tall glasses before pouring the frappe.
- Top with whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce, and a pinch of sea salt if desired.
Notes
For a thicker frappe, use more ice cream; for a lighter version, increase milk. Chill glasses to keep the frappe cold longer. Make-ahead by freezing excess mixture in popsicle molds.
