Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in the sugar until combined, followed by the eggs and vanilla.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Baking the Brownies
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared dish and spread it out evenly. Bake for about 20 minutes.
Preparing the Cheesecake Layer
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract; mix until well blended.
Layering and Baking Again
- Once the brownies are done baking, remove them from the oven and pour the cheesecake mixture over the brownie base. Bake for another 25-30 minutes, or until the cheesecake is set and lightly golden.
Making the Topping
- Melt the chopped Milky Way bars with the sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over low heat until smooth.
Final Assembly
- After the cheesecake layer has cooled slightly, drizzle the Milky Way caramel topping over it and add extra caramel sauce if desired.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
Keep an eye on your brownies while baking; they should be fudgy, not dry. If you forget to soften the cream cheese, microwave it briefly for easier mixing. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days or freeze tightly wrapped for later enjoyment.
