  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • to taste Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • 1 cup ranch dressing store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce use your favorite brand
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for topping
  • ½ cup cooked bacon bits adds extra flavor
  • ½ cup chopped green onions for garnish

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While it’s warming up, season your chicken breasts with a sprinkle of salt and pepper on both sides.
Mixing
  1. In a bowl, combine the ranch dressing and barbecue sauce.
Baking
  1. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in a greased baking dish. Pour the ranch-barbecue mixture over the chicken, making sure each piece is well-coated.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. In the last 5 minutes, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and bacon bits on top.
Serving
  1. Once out of the oven, sprinkle with fresh green onions to add a touch of color and flavor. Serve with a side of steamed veggies or fluffy rice.

Notes

This dish can be prepared in advance. Use thighs instead of breasts if preferred, adjusting the cooking time. For saucier chicken, add a splash of chicken broth or water to the sauce.
