Ingredients

For the crust
  • 1.5 cups 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cups ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
For the filling
  • 1 cups 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 16 oz 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cups 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed is best!)
  • 2 teaspoons 2 teaspoons orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cups 1 cup heavy whipping cream
For garnish
  • Fresh orange slices or whipped cream Optional for garnish

Method

Making the Crust
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until well combined. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Pop it in the fridge while you prepare the filling.
Preparing the Filling
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Taste and adjust as needed for quality control!
Adding the Whipping Cream
  1. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  2. Gently fold this whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture to maintain its fluffiness.
Combining and Chilling
  1. Carefully pour the cream cheese mixture over the prepared crust and smooth the top.
  2. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
Serving
  1. Once set, remove the cheesecake from the springform pan.
  2. Garnish with fresh orange slices or a dollop of whipped cream, cut into slices, and serve.

Notes

Quality Ingredients Matter: Use fresh orange juice and real vanilla extract if possible for best results. Substitutions are permitted - crushed Oreos or gluten-free alternatives can be used for the crust. A store-bought cheesecake crust can save time.
