Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Start by crushing the Oreo cookies until they are fine crumbs using a food processor or a rolling pin in a zip-top bag.
- In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese and peppermint extract, mixing until combined.
- Roll the mixture into small balls, about the size of a tablespoon, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Chilling
- Refrigerate the baking sheet for at least 30 minutes to firm up the truffles.
Coating
- Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring until smooth.
- Dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, letting the excess drip off before placing them back on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the truffles with crushed peppermint candies before the chocolate sets.
Setting
- Allow the chocolate to harden completely, optionally refrigerating for an additional 15-30 minutes.
Notes
If you don’t have white chocolate chips, dark or milk chocolate chips work too. Make a double batch as these are likely to disappear quickly! Pack them in a cute box for last-minute gifts.
