Ingredients

For the Cake
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (to sweeten those berries)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12-15 pieces store-bought shortcake biscuits or sponge cakes for ease of preparation
For Garnish
  • Extra strawberries for that fancy touch
  • Mint leaves optional, but let’s be extra!

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, toss your sliced strawberries with a sprinkle of sugar. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to release their juice.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form.
  3. Layer the dessert by starting with a layer of biscuits, then spoon a layer of whipped cream, followed by a layer of strawberries. Repeat until ingredients are used up, aiming for at least three layers.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour to allow flavors to meld.
Serving
  1. Garnish with extra strawberries and mint leaves if desired. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

You can substitute strawberries with other fruits like raspberries, blueberries, or peaches. For a richer flavor, consider adding almond extract.
