Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and yeast.
  2. Gradually add the warm water to the dry mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon until you form a sticky dough.
  3. Fold in your mixed dried fruits and nuts.
  4. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for about 12-18 hours.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F and a Dutch oven (lid included) in the oven to preheat as well.
  2. Carefully remove the Dutch oven, pour in your dough (with a light dusting of flour if it’s too sticky).
  3. Cover the pot and bake for 30 minutes. Then, remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until it’s golden brown.
Cooling
  1. Once it’s out of the oven, let the bread cool on a wire rack.

Notes

If your dough is too sticky, sprinkle in a little extra flour. Mix in spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for added flavor. Chocolate chips are welcome for a sweet twist!
