Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Basic flour needed for the flatbread.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Acts as a leavening agent.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can be substituted with melted butter.
  • 3/4 cup warm water Add more if needed to form dough.

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until blended.
  2. Create a well in the center and add olive oil and warm water. Mix until a soft dough forms, adding more water if necessary.
  3. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead gently for 2-3 minutes until soft and smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into 6-8 equal parts and roll each piece into a circle about 1/8 inch thick.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. Optionally, brush cooked flatbreads with olive oil or butter before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve warm and enjoy with dips, wraps, or on their own.

Notes

Feel free to customize with garlic powder, herbs, or cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month.
