  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approx. 1.5 pounds)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce or more if you like it saucy
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
  1. Start by seasoning your chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Cooking
  1. In a slow cooker, combine the seasoned chicken and chicken broth. Cook on low for about 360 minutes or high for 240 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  2. Alternatively, you can simmer the chicken on medium heat on the stovetop until cooked through.
Shredding
  1. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the broth and shred it with two forks.
Mixing
  1. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix in the barbecue sauce. Let it heat through for about 20 minutes.
Serving
  1. Spoon the saucy chicken onto hamburger buns and add your choice of toppings.
