  • 1 cup granulated sugar Essential for stability
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
For the Toppings
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 3-4 pieces ripe passionfruit, pulp Substitute with other fruits if necessary
  • to taste whipped cream Store-bought is fine
  • to taste edible glitter or powdered sugar For decoration

Method

Prepping the Pavlova
  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a clean, dry mixing bowl, whip the egg whites until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, allowing it to dissolve fully.
  4. Add the vanilla extract, white vinegar, and cornstarch, gently folding them into the mixture.
Baking
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and shape the meringue into a large tree shape.
  2. Bake for about 1.5 hours, then turn off the oven and let the Pavlova cool completely inside.
Decorating
  1. Gently peel the Pavlova off the parchment paper and top generously with whipped cream, followed by strawberries and passionfruit pulp.
  2. Sprinkle with edible glitter or powdered sugar for a festive touch.

Notes

Store the Pavlova base separately from toppings to maintain its crispiness. Make it a day in advance and add toppings just before serving.
