  • 1 cup buttermilk Can substitute with regular milk mixed with vinegar or lemon juice.
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Optional, for additional flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
  3. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually whisk in the self-rising flour until the batter is smooth.
  5. Fold in chopped pecans and cinnamon.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra delight. Consider adding a splash of bourbon for an adult twist!
