Preparation
- Allow the ribeye steaks to sit out for about 30 minutes to bring them to room temperature.
- Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel and rub them with olive oil.
- Season generously with salt and pepper, then add minced garlic and herbs.
Cooking
- Preheat your cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot, or preheat the grill to high.
- Sear the steaks on the skillet or grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- In the last few minutes of cooking, add butter to the pan and baste the steaks with the melted butter.
Finishing Up
- Remove the steaks from heat and allow them to rest for about 5 minutes.
- Slice the steak against the grain for maximum tenderness and garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
Pair with roasted veggies or a simple salad for a complete meal. If overcooked, a good sauce can help.
